Ladies and gentlemen... DevCon Malaysia is back with another 3 exciting topics!

1. Cross-platform build automation with Cake (C# Make), Vigar Block, Arvato Systems Malaysia

Cake (C# Make) is a cross-platform build automation system with a C# DSL for tasks such as compiling code, copying files and folders, running unit tests, compressing files and building NuGet packages. Cake is built on top of the Roslyn compiler which enables you to write your build scripts in C#. Cake is available on Windows, Linux and macOS. Regardless if you're building on your own machine, or building on a CI system such as AppVeyor, TeamCity, TFS, VSTS or Jenkins, Cake is built to behave in the same way. Cake supports the most common tools used during builds such as MSBuild, MSTest, xUnit, NUnit, NuGet, ILMerge, WiX and SignTool out of the box.

2. Drilling performance with dotTrace, Jason Kee, Sitecore Malaysia

dotTrace helps you detect performance bottlenecks in a variety of .NET and .NET Core applications: WPF and Universal Windows Platform, ASP.NET, Windows and WCF services, Silverlight and unit tests. Get accurate data on calls execution time. In the timeline profiling mode, get the same call time data but bound to a timeline. Use timeline data to analyze performance issues where the order of events matters, such as UI freezes, excessive garbage collection, uneven workload distribution, inefficient file I/O, and others. You can instantly get comprehensive profiling data without having to build your solution, run the profiler and perform a usage scenario. Just add a static method alongside the code that you're optimizing, and profile it!

3. Microsoft App Center - Build, test and distribute your apps, Faiz and Vineeth, Herbalife Malaysia

Take the pain out of building iOS, Android, and Windows apps locally. By connecting to your GitHub, Bitbucket, or Visual Studio Team Services repositories, you can build your apps automatically with every pull request or on demand—and avoid the extra work of managing build agents. Automate UI tests on thousands of real-world devices and hundreds of configurations in the cloud, using popular frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, and XCUITest. Test every possible UI interaction, and diagnose bugs and performance problems every time you build, with detailed step-by-step tracking reports, screenshots, and logs.
